From Radio Insight:
Clear Channel’s 94.9 K235BT Fort Collins, CO will shift to AAA “Radio 94.9” at 12pm today.
Following its launch last November as “Christmas 94.9“, the translator had been operating as “Fox Sports 94.9” since December 26. With the launch to AAA coming, it is once again stunting with Christmas music in preparation.
Sitting in a coverage null of sister AAA 97.3 KBCO Boulder/Denver, 94.9 will be branded as “Colorado’s Finest Rock” and lists Adele, Avett Brothers, Colbie Caillat, Coldplay, Dave Matthews Band, The Fray, Mumford & Sons, and U2 amongst core artists.
The translator is fed by 107.9 KPAW-HD2 and operates with 99 watts with city-grade coverage over Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor.
In the press statement Market Manager Stu Haskell stated, “Radio 94.9 will be a perfect fit for the Fort Collins local music scene and lifestyle. We’re especially excited to spotlight local artists as part of our regular programming and offer the local community a unique radio station that has been missing from this area for a long time.”
