Public Radio Host Exits To Play Pro Basketball In Poland

COMMUNITY RADIO FOR NORTHERN COLORADO News-Talk KUNC/GREELEY, CO has lost "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED" local host KAREEM MADDOX to another job, but not a radio job: CURRENT.ORG reports that MADDOX is leaving to play pro basketball in POLAND.

MADDOX, who joined KUNC in APRIL after working at SANTA MONICA COLLEGE Triple A-News-Talk KCRW/SANTA MONICA-LOS ANGELES as "TO THE POINT" segment producer and at COLORADO PUBLIC RADIO as "COLORADO MATTERS" producer, played college ball at PRINCETON; he played in a showcase in LAS VEGAS earlier this summer and got signed by Polish pro team MIASTO SZKLA KROSNO. He plans to start a podcast while playing in EUROPE.
