Thread: Channel 36 ??

  1. #1

    Default Channel 36 ??

Just did a rescan of receivable channels after getting an antenna to enhance my OTA reception (Ya know just in case some punk kid decides to rip out a bunch of cables in the apartment building cable box or something ;D ) & stumbled across a channel 36 in Analog format. It's a snowy, noisy picture that's not watchable however I was able to make out the Univision logo during one of their program promos

Does KCEC 50 has a translator on that channel or something?

Just curious as to what I stumbled across & where the signal might be coming from.....

    Cheers & 73

There's KDVT Channel 36 which is an analog translator for KTFD Channel 14. It is owned by Entravision. Here's the FCC record for KDVT: http://transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?call=KDVT-LP

Unless it was a local commercial break aired on KTFD 14 for a program aired on sister station KCEC 50 (Hence the Univision logo I saw), I think it has to be a translator for KCEC instead

I can receive KDVT analog channel 36 here in Westminster too and you are right... Entravision (who runs both KTFD and KCEC) changed the translator to use KCEC Channel 50's programming. It is zoomed in 4:3. The translator is located on Lookout Mountain so is it pretty strong for a low power analog TV station. KDVT seems to be having audio problems though.
