ENTERCOM Top 40/Rhythmic KQKS (KS1075)/DENVER has named VICTOR STARR PD. STARR succeeds JOHN E. KAGE, who left in NOVEMBER 2015 to become Dir./Branding at WPOI/TAMPA.
VICTOR STARR moves back to the programming department after selling radio for the past four years. In 2012, he took on radio sales to broaden his experience and find stability to raise a family which led him to DENVER. STARR’s previous programming experience includes: CBS Radio as PD at WJHM/ORLANDO, WZMX/HARTFORD and Morning Show Executive Dir. for WPGC/WASHINGTON, DC. STARR also served as PD at RADIO ONE Urban WERQ/BALTIMORE.
ENTERCOM-DENVER VP/Programming MIKE PETERSON commented "VICTOR’s vast programming knowledge combined with first-hand sales experience gives him a unique perspective and advantage in the evolving world of radio. We’re excited for him to lead the brand."
STARR added, "With ENTERCOM’s focus on live and local content and the remarkable air staff in DENVER - this is an opportunity I couldn’t pass up! I am looking forward to growing the heritage brand of KS 107.5 with the amazing ENTERCOM programming leadership of PAT PAXTON and MIKE PETERSON as well as our incredible Market Manager, AMY GRIESHEIMER, and my KS 107.5 partner (and former boss!) General Sales Manager WENDY DAVIS.
