The biggest news out of these ratings...
Wilks-owned Classic Hits KXKL 105.1 FM (Cool 105) dropping over 15 SPOTS in one book (from 4.9 to 2.0) after they switched to all Christmas music. I've never seen a drop like that. I wonder if they can get their old listeners back? And how long that will take... I'm sure KOSI, KIMN and KALC are all very happy about KXKL's drop.
The change to Christmas music helps KOSI 101.1 FM jump back up into the top 5 (4.6 to 5.3).
Hot AC KALC 105.9 FM (Alice 105.9) and Rock KBPI 106.7 FM drop a few spots. I'm really not sure what is going on with KBPI since it has been dropping every book for a while. At this point, Clear Channel would do a lot better changing that format since they haven't made an attempt to tweak it and just let afternoon personality Uncle Nasty go.
Max Media's R&B Oldies KJHM 101.5 FM jumps a few spots to the highest they have ever been (2.5) before letting personality Cha Cha go, while their sister station Classic Hits KDHT 107.1 FM switch to Jack FM from Dance has them drop more (from 0.6 to 0.5). Max Media really needs to promote KDHT since a lot of people have no idea "Jack" is back...

Actaully, the only reason that KDHT is at the bottom of the burrall Rob, is the signal, and they are currently working on getting that fixed. Infact now people can actually hear 107.1 alot better!
That was their main issue was the signal problem and their translator was also having issues. So I think from this point on, those that listened to 105.5 and going to start to listen to 107.1 now!

You are right, the signal is the biggest reason and promotion is a distant second.
Because of their signal, 107.1 will probably never go above a 2.5 with whatever they do because their stick is 60 miles out east. Even with their translator here in town, it's hard to receive strong in office buildings, etc where people tend to listen the most with the PPM.
The highest in recent history (July) that signal (107.1 FM) has gotten was a 1.5. So let's see if the Jack format can do that. If promoted well, I think they can at least do a 1.3 with Jack - that's the highest 105.5 FM did with the Jack format in the last year.
IMHO I think it will be a one year experiment and then Max Media will change it again since they seem impatient and also think those sticks can perform more than they really can with those weak signals...

KDHT would do better to go back to straight-up hits that teens and tweens like. my kids were listening when it was more top-40 oriented, but did not like the dance stuff. when a crappy boy band like One Direction takes the tween market by storm, - you gotta ride that wave - especially if you are the only station in town doing that.

Perhaps 107.1 would do best going to a Classic Country format. Since the stick is so far east, it would appeal to both the rural and urban community for people who like that type of music. As I recall, when 104.3 was Classic Country, they were doing so well, they were cutting into KYGO's numbers so LFM changed the format to protect 98.5.

You let your kids corrupt themselves with that garbage??? :-( I feel sorry for them.
