    Default Mass Layoffs At Clear Channel Nationwide

    ALL ACCESS has learned that CLEAR CHANNEL is going through another round of layoffs today. The reductions in force appear to be covering several of the company's clusters.

    A statement from the company obtained by ALL ACCESS says, "We are constantly looking at all aspects of our business to ensure that it reflects how the best organizations work today, taking advantage of the latest cutting-edge technology and organizational structure so we can continue to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible.

    "Like every successful business, our strategy continues to evolve as we move forward as a company; this creates some new jobs, and unfortunately eliminates others. These are never easy decisions to make.

    "In the process of making these recent changes, some employees were affected. We thank them for their service and wish them all the best for the future."

    AC KOST/LOS ANGELES PD STELLA PRADO has been let go. PRADO has been with the station for over 20 years, starting as a producer, moving up to APD/MD in 2000, and to PD in 2004.

    Alternative KYSR (98.7FM)/LOS ANGELES midday host/imaging TREVER TRENT has exited the station. TRENT was at Alternative XETRA (91X)/SAN DIEGO for 11 years before joining 98.7.

    TIME OUT CHICAGO's ROBERT FEDER reports that at the CHICAGO cluster, Urban AC WVAZ (V103) evening "QUIET STORM" host GLENN COSBY, Urban Inspirational WGRB-A APD/MD/Middays EFFIE ROLFE, and two other on-air personalities lost their jobs in the cutback.

    And ALL ACCESS has confirmed that CHICAGO Marketing and Promotions Manager ANGIE ZDANOWSKI has also been let go; she was with the company for seven years and is open to new marketing opportunities.

    ALL ACCESS has confirmed that among cuts in TAMPA, Talk WFLA-A and Sports WDAE-A PD STEVE VERSNICK has exited the cluster. VERSNICK joined the cluster in 2010; he previously programmed sister Talk KTLK-F/MINNEAPOLIS Talk WREC-A/MEMPHIS, Talk WERC-A/BIRMINGHAM and Sports WCKY-A/CINCINNATI and managed the ATLANTA BRAVES RADIO NETWORK.

    Alternative KDGE (102.1 THE EDGE) /DALLAS PD/midday host/specialty show host JOSH VENABLE was laid off in this round. VENABLE, formerly MD/afternoons at sister Alternative KYSR/LOS ANGELES.

    Top 40 KHKS (106.1 KISS FM) and Alternative KDGE (102.1 THE EDGE)/DALLAS producer ADRIAN HUMMEL has exited. HUMMEL worked on programming, production, and the Web, and did some fill in on air work as well.

    Top 40 WHYI (Y100)/MIAMI afternoon host MICHAEL YO has left the building after 12 years with the station.

    Talk WIOD-A/MIAMI afternoon host RICH MINAYA has exited. The host (formerly known on the air as RICH MICHAELS) worked for many years in LANSING and hosted at WGR-A/BUFFALO and WTAM-A/CLEVELAND.

    Top 40 WKQI (CHANNEL 955)/DETROIT middayer JAG is among the casualties.

    Sports WDFN-A/DETROIT PD/afternoon host ERIC CHASE has left the station.

    Classic Rock KKRW (93.7 THE ARROW)/HOUSTON morning syndicated WALTON AND JOHNSON SHOW producer JOSH RENO has exited; JOSH was also on-air at KWTX/WACO, KDMX/DALLAS, and KTBZ/HOUSTON and previously worked as a producer and on-air talent at Top 40 KRBE/HOUSTON.

    Country WFUS (US 103.5)/TAMPA MD/middayer RYAN NELSON and afternoon co-host JENNY DEAN are out.

    Also leaving the TAMPA building is Promotions Coordinator TY DEMEZA, who was with the cluster since 2009 and fulltime since 2010.

    And afternoon host STU from Urban WBTP (95.7 THE BEAT)/TAMPA has also left the cluster.

    Country WUBL (94.9 THE BULL)/ATLANTA midday host TIM MICHAELS is out.

    Regional Mexican WBZY (105.3 EL PATRON)/ATLANTA afternoon host MIGUEL AGUILAR has left the station. AGULAR has 18 years experience, 12 of those years at HBC/UNIVISION RADIO stations, with experience in voiceovers, Nexgen, Audio Vault, Scott Studio, and social media.

    Producer JOSH SABROWSKY has been laid off after seven years at Sports KJR-A-F/SEATTLE.

    Talk KOGO-A/SAN DIEGO has lost morning producer DON AYERS and afternoon producer JEFF (SLASH) MOORE.

    Triple A KTCZ (CITIES 97)/MINNEAPOLIS MD/middayer THORN has exited.

    Longtime AC WMGF (MAGIC 107.7)/ORLANDO PD/afternooner KEN PAYNE is out. PAYNE had been with MAGIC for the last 14 years.

    Talk WTKS (REAL RADIO 104.1)/ORLANDO PD CATHERINE BROWN, night host CABIN BOY, and midday producer BULL are no longer with the station.

    Active Rock WJRR/ORLANDO night host and station veteran LT has exited. LT had been with WJRR since interning in 2004, working her way up to an on-air gig and Promotions Coordinator as well as local music specialty show host. She co-hosted mornings with CRASH, then hosted mornings solo after CRASH's OCTOBER departure and moved to nights this week.

    Alternative WRFF (RADIO 104.5)/PHILADELPHIA part-timer BOB STEI is out after five years. STEI, who previously worked weekends at Rock WZZO/ALLENTOWN-BETHLEHEM-EASTON and at Rock WBAB/BABYLON, LONG ISLAND.

    Active Rock KBPI/DENVER aftrernoon host UNCLE NASTY is gone from the station, as is overnighter and KBPI and KEGL Imaging Director EDDIE BARELLA.

    Triple A KBCO/DENVER weekender/swing man JOE NIKO has left the station.

    Rock WEBN/CINCINNATI afternoon host JAY GILBERT has exited.

    Country KASE and KVET/AUSTIN PD and KASE afternoon host JOEL BURKE.

    Sports KFXN-F (KFAN)/MINNEAPOLIS "POWER TRIP" morning co-host MIKE MORRIS is no longer with the station. MORRIS is a former MINNESOTA VIKINGS long snapper.

    At AC WNIC (FRESH 100.3)/DETROIT, ALL ACCESS hears that morning show cast member DAN WATKINS, morning producer JENNA CORK, afternoon host and sister Classic Rock WDTW (106.7 THE D) APD KRISTIN BURNS, and weekend/fill-in host DANIELLE CAR are out. Reached by ALL ACCESS, CAR confirmed her own departure and said "I have certainly enjoyed my years of laughing and connecting with fellow Detroiters and hope to continue to serve the community in which I was born and raised."

    And 106.7 THE D afternoon host DAVE DAHMER is out as well.

    Top 40 WAKS/CLEVELAND APD/MD/afternoon host KASPER has exited. The veteran of stations like WIOQ (Q102)/PHILADELPHIA was also voicetracking afternoons at WAKZ/Youngstown and weekends at KHKS/Dallas.

    Top 40/Rhythmic KGGI PD JESSE DURAN and RIVERSIDE-SAN BERNARDINO Market Manager BOB RIDZAK are among the cuts in the INLAND EMPIRE.

    Country WCOL/COLUMBUS PD JOHN CRENSHAW is out.

    Also from the COLUMBUS cluster, Oldies WODC/COLUMBUS morning driver ANDY CLARK exits, as do middayer AMY DONOVAN (amyd@teshmedia.com) and afternoon host KEVIN KIRSCHNER.

    Board operator JOEL ELLIOTT has exited the LOS ANGELES cluster, where he worked the board for Urban AC KHHT (HOT 92.3), Hot AC KBIG (104.3 MY FM), Alternative KYSR, and Talk KTLK-A.

    AUSTIN cluster part-time promotions assistant KEITH CARLYLE was also laid off. CARLYLE was an intern for the BOBBY BONES show at Top 40 KHFI (96.7 KISS FM) before moving into the promotions position.
