Default What happened to Dusty Saunders at the Denver Post ?

Dusty Saunders had written a weekly sports section column concerning sports broadcasting and local sports media personalities for The Denver Post over the last few to several years since the demise of The Rocky Mountain News. His column has run on Mondays for the most part but had been shifted to Fridays in recent months.

However, the column disappeared in early July and has not been seen since, and one wonders whether Saunders was sent packing by the Post in their most recent mass-senior staff buy-out, or if there is another issue, perhaps personal, for the dean of Denver print media whose career went back to 1954 that has kept him away from reporting.

Perhaps someone whom is acquainted with Irv Brown - or Dusty's son Patrick who is still with the Post - can get some information to let all know how Dusty is doing and what happened to him.

It would be a shame if a 61 year career ended with no recognition and gratitude. Saunders and the aforementioned Brown are the last of those in the public eye whose memories and professional accomplishments go back to a Denver and a Colorado long ago, to a time when even the Denver Broncos and the local freeways, among a number of many other other noteworthy items, were not in existence.
