"Sunday at the Memories" oldies radio show returns

James Durkee says, "I am happy to announce "Sunday at the Memories with Ray Durkee" will be returning to the air in Denver for an encore performance starting May 3 on Cruisin' 950." The oldies radio show was a ratings hit in the 1970s.

James Durkee, the son of Ray Durkee and himself a Denver radio voice (overnights in the 1980s-early ’90s on KBPI), has been working to transfer his father’s vintage tapes to a digital format. Now, “with their sports schedule free”, he says, the oldies station is putting the show back on the air, Sundays 4-7 p.m.

KRWZ 950 AM could be just the start. Durkee has said he’d like to syndicate the digitized program from the 1970s eventually.
