Almost time to root, root, root for the home team: The Colorado Rockies and Root Sports announced the network’s 2015 Colorado Rockies telecast schedule of 150 regular season games and six spring training games.

Regular season coverage begins with the season opener on Monday, April 6, Rockies at Brewers at 12:10 p.m. A one-hour pregame show will begin at 11 a.m.

The team will open at Coors Field on Friday, April 10 with the pregame show starting at 1 p.m. Spring training coverage begins on March 20 at 2:10 p.m., when the Rockies take on the Athletics at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.

Look for a new zoom feature and a relocated centerfield camera position, moved to dead-center “allowing for an improved view of pitch movement and the strike zone,” according to the network.

How many of these games will actually be telecast, not cablecast. One, maybe none. As an OTA viewer, I find myself caring less and less about local sports since almost none of the hometown teams (except the Broncos) deign to show up on OTA channels. I understand that only about 12% of their potential audience are using OTA, but we would like to see an occasional game on TV.
The Angels have the phone box!
