The update on SALEM Talk KNUS-A/DENVER morning host STEVE KELLEY's attempt at a world record for "longest marathon on a swing” is that he indeed made it to the 32-hour mark, with the station saying that over 17,000 people passed by the promotion, which took place adjacent to the COMFORT DENTAL AMPHITHEATRE in GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO and ended just as a MITT ROMNEY rally was about to begin on SATURDAY at the venue. KELLEY's stunt, which was held to encourage people to vote in the "swing state" of COLORADO, beat the previous record of 31 hours set in 2008.
KELLEY has previously held similar stunts for various causes and charities, including sitting in every seat in both old and new MILE HIGH STADIUM incarnations and riding a pogo stick from BOULDER to DENVER.

KNUS-AM morning man has a long love affair with crazy radio stunts. Some of his more legendary exploits include sitting in every seat in the old and new Mile High Stadiums and pogo sticking from Boulder to Denver to raise over $3,000,000 for local charities. But his latest event had a more patriotic flair.

Kelley stayed on a swing, going back and forth, for 32 straight hours for the sole purpose of encouraging citizens in his "swing state" to get out and vote. The achievement did break a previous Guinness world record of 31 hours so he'll get his name in the record books. KNUS says close to 17,000 passed by Steve while he was swinging.
