From All Access:
The ELECTRONIC FRONTIER FOUNDATION is reporting that ADAM CAROLLA has settled in the patent case brought by PERSONAL AUDIO, the entity asserting patent rights over the mechanism enabling podcasting. Terms of the settlement are confidential.
The move means that CAROLLA, who had resisted settling in order to push for invalidation of the patent, is not moving forward in that regard, but the EFF's challenge to the patent continues, as does a case brought by PERSONAL AUDIO against NBC, CBS and FOX. PERSONAL AUDIO, characterized by opponents as a "patent troll," earlier said that it had offered to dismiss its case (without prejudice) because it had discovered that the amount of revenue earned by podcasters is much smaller than it had assumed.
