Susie Wargin to leave KUSA 9News
From The Denver Post:
Susie Wargin, 9News weekday morning sports anchor since 2004, will leave the station when her contract expires in August. She’s getting out of the TV business to devote herself to real estate fulltime but will continue to freelance for 9News on occasion.
“I’ve had my real estate license since June,” Wargin said. “My mom’s been in the business for 38 years (with RE/MAX). It’s a good family decision for me now. Mom wants to hand down the business and I’d be an idiot to refuse.”
Wargin said the Pro Challenge, which ends Aug. 24, will likely be her final assignment as a fulltime 9News staffer. She worked at KBPI and KOA before becoming getting the weekend prep sports job at KUSA. When Drew Soicher moved to nights, she got the morning gig in 2004.
Having been in local TV and radio for 21 years, she said, “I’m ready to move on.”

Yeah, I've noticed that KUSA has had A LOT of turnover in the last 6 months... they don't seem to have as good of a product as they have had in the past. And the new reporters I've seen lately (Colleen Ferreira, Jessica Oh) really haven't grown on me like others they have brought in, in the past...
It also seems they can't do an entire newscast without at least one technical glitch happening when I've tuned in.

I think that is the norm now adays, to show people they are allowed to make mistakes live on the air. Just look at what channel 7 is now doing for their news cast? Live and RAW, and able to goof up all the time.
Your right ever since Amelia left (the first one to leave) then a lot of other people started to get either layed off or decided to leave all together? So Kirk is out, (since as i read on Westwood) he is so hated by so many people it seems like. And they want more sports anchors over there? No more entertainment news apparently. Wow. I wonder how much longer Ward well last then? Or the rest even?

I first met Susie when she worked at KBPI and I was running DenverRadio.net. She is an awesome person and I hope she finds happiness in the next phase of her life.
So in the last few months, KUSA has lost Susie Wargin, Kirk Montgomery, Will Ripley, Jace Larson, Amelia Earhart and Dave Delozier. And then before that, was Carrie McClure, Eric Kahnert, Ashton Altieri, Deborah Sherman and Bazi Kanani...
There's been a lot of turnover at most of the stations in town over the last couple of years. I probably should make a list with where they ended up eventually and post it on the site. Local news is becoming a very tough biz to be in.
Who's the "Ward" you are talking about?

I think the Ward Radiodude is referring to is former weekend anchor Ward Lucas.
