CLEAR CHANNEL COMMUNITIES and CCM+E/NORTHERN COLORADO announced today the fundraising total from its inaugural “Say Yes and Donate the Dress” event, a benefit to support PARTNERS MENTORING YOUTH of LARIMER and WELD COUNTY. The two CLEAR CHANNEL radio stations (BIG COUNTRY 97.9 and 96.1 KISS-FM) held the dress sale on MARCH 29th and raised nearly $4,000 for the charity.
For three weeks, both radio stations encouraged local listeners to donate gently used dresses to various BURKE CLEANER locations, EHRLICH TOYOTA and the CLEAR CHANNEL studios in LOVELAND. The stations collected more than 1,200 dresses, which were dry-cleaned by BURKE CLEANERS at no charge. On SATURDAY, MARCH 29th, the stations sold the entire stock of dresses in a one-day sale. BIG COUNTRY 97.9 AND 96.1 KISS-FM SOLD EACH DRESS FOR $9.61 OR $9.79; THE FUNDS RAISED WILL SUPPORT Partners Mentoring Youth’s one-on-one mentoring programs for at-risk children in the community.
“BIG COUNTRY 97.9 and 96.1 KISS-FM listeners showed overwhelming support for the community throughout ‘Say Yes and Donate the Dress,’” 96.1 KISS-FM PD BIG ROB said. “CLEAR CHANNEL/NORTHERN COLORADO is committed to addressing community needs, and we are proud to support PARTNERS MENTORING YOUTH’s mission to provide mentoring services to local youth.”
