Brigitte Quinn Joins WICC For 12-2pm Show
From Radio Insight:
Longtime New York News radio anchor Brigitte Quinn is joining Connoisseur Media News/Talk 600 WICC Bridgeport CT to host a new local 12-2pm show starting Monday, September 30 following the station’s addition of a simulcast on 95.9 WFOX Southport on Tuesday.
Quinn co-anchored mornings at 880 WCBS from 1988 to 1996, fill-ins in 2013-14, and middays from January 2023 until the station’s sign-off last month. She anchored mornings and then middays at 1010 WINS from 2013 to 2023 spending eight years as morning co-anchor before moving to middays in 2021 She has also worked in television as an anchor at MSNBC, Fox News Channel, and NBC News At Sunrise. Quinn commented, “Ever since my family and I moved back to beautiful Connecticut, I?ve become a faithful WICC listener. I?m delighted to be joining such a great news/talk radio station, ?The Voice of Connecticut?. Quinn will replace the syndicated Erik Erickson Show in WICC’s lineup.
The addition of Quinn’s show makes WICC local from 5am to 6pm. It is also expanding its local weekend programming with new shows hosted by Chef Plum, WTNH-TV’s Mike Cerulli, and Dave Ruden of the Ruden Report covering local high school sports. The station notes it is still seeking a Morning News Reporter “who will be vital in shaping WICC?s future as a leading voice in Connecticut?s media landscape”.
Discussing the addition of the 95.9 simulcast, Vice President of Programming Keith Dakin said, “This rebranding and expansion to 95.9 FM represents a pivotal moment for WICC,? stated Keith Dakin, VP of Programming for Connoisseur Media. ?The talent on our team, coupled with our new affiliation with CBS News, will allow us to meet the demand for news and talk programming in Southern Connecticut. We?re excited about this next phase and looking forward to serving a much wider geography and bigger audience.?
Kristin Okesson, Senior Vice President of Connoisseur Media Connecticut, said, “We invite Fairfield County listeners to tune in to ‘The Voice of Connecticut. Our affiliation with CBS News paired with these exciting changes in programming reinforces our commitment to deliver modern, engaging content and we?re confident that our audiences will appreciate the new ?voice? they hear. I?m especially proud that our daytime shows are hosted by four incredibly talented hosts?three of them in particular are outstanding women in their own right.?
