    Default January 2024 (1/4 ? 1/31) Nielsen Audio PPM Ratings Day 2: Non-Comm Record Highs In Seattle & Baltimore

    Nielsen Audio has released Day 2 of its monthly four day sweep of ratings in PPM markets.
    Today’s releases include Washington DC, Boston, Seattle, Miami, Phoenix, Detroit, Minneapolis, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Denver, San Diego, Baltimore, and St. Louis.
    Nielsen also has reissued the Fall 2023 ratings for Reno NV after 107.3 KNEZ and 105.3 KZTI were inadvertently omitted. No other stations were affected.

    Washington DC

    Public News/Talk 88.5 WAMU trends up 11.3 – 11.5 – 12.7 to extend its lead. Hubbard News 103.5 WTOP jumps up 6.3 to 8.3. Howard University Adult R&B 96.3 WHUR dips 7.7 to 7.2. iHeartMedia AC 97.1 WASH hits a six month low down 11.0 to 6.5. Radio One Adult R&B “Majic 102.3/92.7” WMMJ/WDCJ trends down 5.8 – 5.5 – 5.0.
    Classical 90.9 WETA-FM surges up 2.1 – 3.4 – 3.8 – 4.6. Cumulus Conservative Talk 105.9 WMAL gains 3.1 to 4.5.
    Radio One Hip Hop 93.9 WKYS continues its rise 3.3 – 3.8 – 3.9 – 4.2.
    Audacy Sports “106.7 The Fan” WJFK-FM is up 2.6 to 2.8 (with its stream adding an additional 1.0 share), while sister Spanish CHR “El Zol 107.9” WLZL trends up 1.3 – 2.0 – 2.2. Classic Hits “94.7 The Drive” WIAD slides 4.3 – 3.9 – 3.5.
    Boston

    Beasley’s “98.5 The Sports Hub” WBZ-FM rises 9.2 to 11.2 to set a new record high for the station with Ratings Expert Chris Huff noting that it breaks the 10.9 set in October 2023. Audacy AC “Magic 106.7” WMJX is second down 14.2 to 6.7. Public News/Talk 90.9 WBUR dips 6.1 to 6.0. Beasley Classic Hits 105.7 WROR jumps up 3.9 to 5.2. iHeartMedia Classic Rock 100.7 WZLX is off 5.0 to 4.9.
    Audacy Hot AC “Mix 104.1” WWBX jumps up 2.8 to 4.5. Beasley Country 102.5 WKLB gains 3.0 to 4.1. Audacy Sports 93.7 WEEI-FM rises 2.8 to 3.9. Classical 99.5 WCRB is up for the sixth straight month 2.6 – 2.9 – 3.2.
    Audacy Variety Hits “Big 103” WBGB trends down 3.6 – 3.1 – 2.9.
    Seattle/Tacoma

    Audacy Country “100.7 The Wolf” KKWF reclaims the top spot up 6.1 to 7.3. Public News/Talk 94.9 KUOW-FM rises 6.2 to 6.9. The morning show musical chairs helps both stations as iHeartMedia Classic Rock 102.5 KZOK places third 5.9 to 5.8 following the change from Danny Bonaduce to BJ Shea, while Audacy Rock 99.9 KISW rises 3.8 to 5.4 with its new “Daly Migs Show”. Audacy Soft AC “94.1 The Sound“. places fifth 8.0 to 4.6.
    Dance “C89.5” KNHC rises 1.2 – 1.4 – 1.7, which Huff notes is a new all-time record high for Nathan Hale High School’s student/volunteer operated station.
    iHeartMedia Sports 93.3 KJR-FM rises 2.6 to 4.2, which Huff notes is the largest share on the frequency since April 2012.
    iHeartMedia CHR “Hits 106.1” KBKS rebounds 3.3 to 4.1, while Hubbard’s “Movin 92.5” KQMV is up 3.5 to 4.0. iHeart Classic Hits “95.7 The Jet” KJEB is up 3.6 to 4.1. Lotus AC “Star 101.5” KPLZ slides 3.1 – 2.7 – 2.1.
    AAA 90.3 KEXP trends up 2.7 – 2.9 – 3.4. Audacy Alternative “107.7 The End” KNDD is up 2.3 – 2.6 – 3.3. As it celebrated its first birthday last week, Hubbard AAA 98.9 KPNW-FM still hasn’t gained footing as it rises 0.6 to 0.8.
    Miami/Fort Lauderdale

    Cox Adult R&B “Hot 105” WHQT rises 7.8 to 9.4 to expand its lead. Univision Spanish AC “Amor 107.5” WAMR rises 7.1 to 7.6. Cox Soft AC “Easy 93.1” WFEZ rises 4.9 to 5.9. Audacy AC “101.5 Lite-FM” WLYF slides 6.8 to 5.2. After its huge gain out of the gate following its flip from Hot AC to Bilingual Soft AC in November, iHeartMedia’s “Magic 93.9” WMIA-FM is off 4.9 to 4.4.
    Audacy Classic Hits “102.7 The Beach” WMXJ rises 3.6 to 4.1. Public News/Talk 91.3 WLRN-FM jumps up 3.3 to 4.1. iHeart Spanish CHR “T? 94.9” WZTU is up 2.6 to 3.1.
    SBS Spanish Oldies “Zeta 92.3” WCMQ-FM drops 4.7 to 3.8, as sister Spanish Tropical “El Zol 106.7” WXDJ falls 4.5 – 3.6 – 2.9. Cox Hip Hop “99 Jamz” WEDR is down 3.7 to 3.3 and Cox Rhythmic AC “Hits 97.3” WFLC slides 2.9 – 2.6 – 2.1.
    Phoenix

    iHeartMedia AC “99.9 KEZ” KESZ rises from its pre-holiday 8.2 share in November down 18.5 to 9.6. Hubbard Classic Rock 100.7 KSLX gains 6.0 to 7.0, while sister Rock 97.9 KUPD jumps 4.2 to 5.3. Audacy Classic Hits “Big 94.5” KOOL rises 3.2 to 4.9. Desert Valley Media Oldies “94.9/95.1 The Wow Factor” KOAI inches up 4.5 to 4.6.
    After a huge 4.2 to 6.9 gain last month, Hubbard Alternative “Alt AZ 93.3” KDKB slides back to a 4.5 share.
    iHeartMedia Country 102.5 KNIX rises 2.9 to 4.0. Audacy CHR “Live 101.5” KALV-FM is up 3.0 to 3.7. iHeart Variety Hits “95.5 The Mountain” KYOT rises 2.7 to 3.5. Bonneville News/Talk 92.3 KTAR-FM gains 1.8 – 2.2 – 2.6.

    Audacy Sports “97.1 The Ticket” WXYT-FM rides the Lions trip to the NFC Championship Game to rise 8.6 to 9.8 (with its stream up 1.2 to 1.8). iHeartMedia AC 100.3 WNIC moved 16.9 to 7.6, while sister CHR “Channel 95.5” WKQI rises back up 5.1 to 6.9. Beasley Classic Rock 94.7 WCSX holds at a 6.6 share. Audacy Country 99.5 WYCD rebounds 4.6 to 6.3.
    Beasley Rock 101.1 WRIF jumps up 4.6 to 6.0. Audacy Classic Hits 104.3 WOMC shoots up 4.7 to 5.9, while sister News 950 WWJ gains 4.3 to 5.6 and sister Alternative “Alt 98.7” WDZH trends up 2.6 – 2.9 – 3.2.

    Audacy News/Talk 830 WCCO climbs 3.8 to 4.7. Hubbard’s “My Talk 107.1” KTMY rises 1.9 to 2.9.

    Public News/Talk “Colorado Public Radio” 90.1 KCFR trends up 2.7 – 3.0 – 4.5. Bonneville Sports “104.3 The Fan” KKFN rises 3.5 to 4.0, while KSE Media’s “Altitude 92.5” KKSE-FM rises 2.0 to 3.0.

    Audacy Hot AC “Mix 106.5” WWMX gains 3.0 to 4.6. iHeartMedia Variety Hits “102.7 Jack-FM” WQSR falls 5.8 – 3.7 – 3.5. Radio One Gospel “Praise 106.1” WLIF-HD2 tumbles 2.9 – 2.1 – 1.1.
