As of 5:10 PM Jack appears to be back on the air.

NICE! It's great that CC helped out Jack like that.

Not so fast, I just tuned in and what a poor uplink, the song goes in and out and out a lot of times. this was a lousy temp fix! it's not working on what it is suppose to have done.

I tuned in today and it appears they are in mono and the feed they are sending to the transmitter sounds like a very low bitrate mp3 file... like a 32k file or lower (112k or higher will give you FM quality sound). There's noisy digital glitches in it too. But I guess it's better than nothing...

Here's another article about what Clear Channel's part is...

    http://www.sys-con.com/node/2301171

"...providing an emergency STL link via the CCS (Clear Channel Satellite) uplink located in Englewood, CO. With the new satellite uplink equipment and a generator, Jack-FM 105.5 is back on the air! An STL is a studio-transmitter link that sends a radio station's audio from the broadcast studio to a radio transmitter in another location."

I'm not impressed with this new state-of-the-art system. The audio quality on Jack right now is horrible...

Default 105.5 has a fb page!

Here is the link to their fb page. Now the station doesn't broadcast live (for some reason) so when you click on listen live what you are listening to is Jack.FM music.

They haven't had any live personalities in a while... since probably before NRC sold it to Front Range Sports. So it's cheaper to just link to a generic Jack feed since listener slots on the internet cost money... and I bet the cost vs. extra advertiser $$$ aren't worth doing a live feed on the net to them.

I found out Jack is being fed Dial Global's "Jack" format and has been since Front Range bought them. It sounds like they have fixed their audio issues in the last few days.

Default Jack back, but what is going on with KYEN Severance ?

One has to wonder when 103.9 KYEN will be back on the air. I have not read or heard if the High Park Fire destroyed an antenna, or if there are simply other issues that are keeping the station down.
