Default WVIK To Split Classical & News/Talk Programming

    From Radio Insight:

Augustana College is planning a realignment of its Public News/Talk and Classical programming services in the Quad Cities this summer.
90.3 WVIK Rock Island IL will convert to all News/Talk programming, while 105.7 K289BI Davenport IA will see its signal upgraded and acquire all the Classical programming. Currently WVIK airs a mix of News/Talk and Classical, while K289BI/WVIK-HD2 airs additional News/Talk programming.
General Manager Jay Pearce told the Quad City Times, “We’re not going to do it until we have a frequency that covers all of the Quad-Cities. Sustainability is the bottom line here. It’s a financial thing, and we studied it long and hard.”
