Tom Helmer joins KCNC as Sports Reporter

Veteran Sports reporter Tom Helmer is joining KCNC. Among the many things he has done (including a recent stint in stand up comedy), Helmer was on Root Sports and hosted pre- and post-game Rockies shows before being let go February 2012. He starts July 25th and is taking the slot left behind by Gary Miller, who left the station last week for a gig at KDSP 102.3FM that starts July 22nd.

I saw on KCNC CBS 4 tonight that they said that Tom Helmer's last day there was today.

I hear that Helmer is quitting media to work a regular Monday-Friday job so that he can spend more time with his family.
