From Radio Insight:
Entravision Communications conducted a massive round of restructuring and layoffs at its radio and television properties across the country last week. Most of the cuts came from television where the company is eliminating most of its news departments in Denver, Las Vegas, Reno, Washington DC and other markets and outsourcing production to another market. Similar cuts were made last month in other markets such as Laredo. There were also cuts made at many of their radio properties. In Sacramento morning co-hosts Yaya Martinez and Jay Marzz are gone from Rhythmic CHR “Hot 103.5” KHHM. Sugabear remains in the slot by himself. Night host Doug Bowe is out at Classic Rock “92.3 The Fox” KOFX El Paso. While we cannot verify other names, most station websites have been gutted of all night and part-time on-air talent. RBR.com adds that 27 radio staffers were let go from the company’s Los Angeles operations and ten total in El Paso. Today was my last day on air with these two crazy kids at Hot 103.5, ya’ll saved my sense of humor when I popped up 2 years ago. Thank you to all the listeners who tuned in and made our mornings, what they were. Gonna miss you the most. ?? pic.twitter.com/AohEJVvDsU — Yaya Martinez (@YAYAMARTINEZ) April 7, 2018 So how’s your Friday going? Lol A post shared by jaymarzz (@jaymarzz) on Apr 6, 2018 at 4:30pm PDT
