Pillar of Fire's 910 KPOF Denver purchased Silent 98.9 K255BL Craig CO in May 2016 with the intent to relocate it to Denver with 2w/124m. However in the process of the move, Pillar of Fire failed to deal with the issue that it needed to bring the translator back on the air by November 30, 2016 to keep the translator's license alive.
Pillar of Fire eventually filed a Petition of Waiver in March requesting the FCC overlook the passing of the one year silent period by claiming they "misunderstood the statutory limitation on the length of time a station may remain silent, and intended to use the translator to improve its service through the FCC’s AM Revitalization initiative". The FCC rejected this claim as its grant of the license transfer included the license's expiration date were it not to resume broadcasting and that the AM Revitalization Order did change the rules on how long a license can remain silent. Due to those issues the agency has upheld their previous decision and deleted the license for K255BL.
