Default UPDATED: Altitude Sports 950AM moving to 92.5FM on 9/17/18. "The Wolf" is going away.

I'm hearing Kroenke-owned Country KWOF 92.5 FM may be going to a sports format soon... can anyone confirm and/or have any more info? Again, this is only a RUMOR and not fact.

If this happens, look to iHeart to try to put on an FM country station in Denver via a translator using an HD signal. Maybe on 107.9 FM. They are already broadcasting iHeart's country format on KPTT 95.7 FM HD-2 now.

Unfortunately I don't have much details. But yesterday RadioInsight.com reported a daily domain for a new sports station in Denver. I'm not subscribed to the daily domains that Lance does on the site but I decided to try and do a little bit of guessing on possible domains and one I came up with was 925theticket.com.

Nice find! So it looks like it's a good bet this change to sports for KWOF will be happening.

Why would they change 92.5, when they already have a sports station on 950? It makes no sense at all! Besides 950 signal is clear both day and night in any directions.
So why change 92.5 to another sports station? I thought the law was that station owner can't own the same format? Besides there already is 104.3 The fan.

Be nice to have a response to this, since I am courious?

So it repairs again? The name "The Ticket?". Humm wasn't that tried out before and failed after it landed on 87.7? Then it went to a spanish format? Oh wait it was on 102.3 The Ticket! It didn't work.
Maybe this time around it would?

That website is registered to James Merrillat at his kse email address. But Denver can't have another sports station... I would think it has to be an FM Altitude or they are renaming it and moving it to FM. But what the heck would they do with 950? They bought 950 with the sole purpose of Altitude radio. Confused. I guess time will tell....

They registered 950theticket.com as well in late April. Rebrand and move to FM/AM simulcast?

That makes more sense! Who listens to Am anyways? I wonder? Just how well is 950 doing in the ratings so far? Is it sinking like a rock?
They have to now compete against KSPD 760.

I would be thankful to turn the AM dial off if this happened... can't stand the Fan anymore. Makes me wonder though... what is the purpose of AM radio becoming these days?

All quiet on this end, but they seemed to have shuffled their on-air staff, gone a different direction with imaging and shortened their name to simply Altitude 950, now using a variation of the Altitude TV logo. On the same day, 7-27, a company that specializes in registering domain names for private clients to allow a sense of anonymity, registered altitude925.com and altitudesports925.com.
