From Radio Insight:
Hugh HewittSalem Media Group’s Salem Radio Network is revising its national Conservative Talk lineup with Hugh Hewitt moving from mornings to afternoons and Chris Stigall taking over the national morning show.
The moves, brought on by Sebastian Gorka’s pending departure to join the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Counterterrorism, will see Hewitt move from his national 6-9am Eastern timeslot to 3-6pm. Hewitt has hosted mornings for Salem Radio Network since April 2016 after previously anchoring early evenings from 2000-2016.
Replacing Hewitt in mornings will be “990 The Answer” WNTP Philadelphia morning host Chris Stigall. Stigall has hosted mornings for the Salem station since November 2019 and will continue to be based at the station. Stigall previously spent nine years in mornings at Audacy’s 1210 WPHT Philadelphia and also hosted mornings at Cumulus’ 710 KCMO Kansas City from 2006-2010.
Chris StigallSalem Senior VP/Spoken Word Phil Boyce said, “While we are sorry to lose a great host in Dr. Gorka, we are delighted to provide these opportunities to Hugh and Chris. This is an exciting time to be doing conservative News and Talk programming. Our listeners are enthused about the new Trump administration, and these two shows will be all over this transition.?
Hewitt commented, “I am delighted to make this move to afternoons. Breaking news from Washington DC happens largely during the day, and now I will have the opportunity to provide insight and opinion on the news as it happens. Salem is the best conservative media company on the planet, and I look forward to many years driving people home, instead of driving them to work.?
Stigall added, “Salem has become a national leader in conservative media and free speech at a time of great consequences. God put it on my heart from a very young age to work in broadcasting. It feels so good to know this extraordinary professional opportunity comes from a management team of God-honoring men and women in Salem. I can’t thank my Salem colleagues, sponsors, and listeners enough for their long-time support and I’m so excited to grow our morning family all across the country.”
