Famed COLORADO-based rock concert promoter BARRY FEY will be the subject of an upcoming documentary, "Rockfather Rockumentary: The Life And Times Of Barry Fey," currently in production.
BARRY promoted almost a thousand shows at the RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATRE in MORRISON, CO, through his company FEYLINE, for 30 years from 1968 to 1997. including the legendary U2 show in 1983 which resulted in their epic concert film, "U2 Live At RED ROCK: Under a Blood Red Sky," which he co-produced with ISLAND RECORDS and CHRIS BLACKWELL.
FEY also promoted the first U.S. appearance by LED ZEPPELIN in 1968 at the DENVER AUDITORIUM ARENA. The first show he ever promoted at RED ROCKS was with JIMI HENDRIX, and he also promoted the legendary guitarist's last appearance with the JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE at the.three-day DENVER POP FESTIVAL in JUNE, 1969.

"This is a life story that needs to be told," said LEE LILEY, CEO of DENVER-based MUSICTRACKS FILMS, who are producing the documentary. "There have been so many great music-related documentaries lately that we felt further inspired to tell BARRY's own, incredible story, as a tribute from his friends and family. It'll be the good, the bad and, perhaps, even the ugly ... his musical adventures from beginning to end ... We hope to capture it all. While he penned a book a few years back, we wanted to bring his story more to life on a big screen ... one that's colorful ... just like BARRY."
The film will encompass both BARRY's life and music history, as it evolved from the mid-'60s, featuring footage of, and commentary from, many of the top musical artists of the times about their interactions with BARRY and stories of the era.
Just prior to his passing in APRIL 2013, FEY was working with MUSICTRACKS on the documentary and sat down with his longtime friend and musician KENNY PASSARELLI for what would be his last filmed interview. PASSARELLI -- a 26-time gold and platinum-winning artist and co-writer of the hit song, "Rocky Mountain Way" -- will host and narrate the forthcoming documentary and already has quite a few artists and executives "in the can."
MUSICTRACKS has established a memorial statue fund (www.BarryFeyStatueFund.org) for a life-sized bronze statue of BARRY to be erected at the RED ROCKS PARK AMPHITHEATRE which they are hoping to unveil on JULY 16th, 2018, a day that marks what would've been his 80th birthday. A memorial concert that will benefit the BARRY FEY FOUNDATION is in the works for that day.
If you have a story regarding BARRY and would like to be considered for an interview for the documentary, please contact JEFF ALBRIGHT at rockstarpr@aol.com.
MUSICTRACK FILMS will be in the HOLLYWOOD area filming interviews during the week of FEBRUARY 6th through 13th. An artist appearance agreement will be provided upon request. There are several slots currently available that week for artists and executives that would like to participate.
