During the Aug. 4 taping of the roast of Roseanne on Comedy Central (http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/roast-of-roseanne), frequent roaster Jeffrey Ross turned to fellow actor-comedian and roaster, Seth Green, and made a joke about the Aurora, Colo., movie theater shooting.

“Seth, congratulations. This is actually a great night for you,” said Ross, who came dressed as Joe Paterno. “You haven’t gotten this much attention since you shot all those people in Aurora.” Green, like Holmes on the evening of July 20, has a full head of red hair.

“I’m kidding,” Ross continued. “You are not like James Holmes. At least he did something in a movie theater that people remember!”

Comedy Central now says that dialog will be cut from the Aug. 12 telecast.

Ross, who now has his own show on the network, has said on Howard Stern’s radio show that he made the comment for the room, not intending it to be broadcast.
