Thirty-three years ago TODAY, ALAN HUNTER, MARK GOODMAN, NINA BLACKWOOD, MARTHA QUINN and J.J. JACKSON huddled around a TV in FT. LEE, NJ to watch their first day on the job -- as the original VJs of MTV. They were at the launch party, held across the BAY because MTV wasn't even available in MANHATTAN at the time.
The first video aired was THE BUGGLES' "Video Killed The Radio Star." For more flashbacks of that eventful night, click here (http://www.retroist.com/2014/08/01/happy-birthday-mtv/) and here (http://www.platypuscomix.net/videos/therealfirstday.html).
