Get well wishes go out to former FOX SPORTS RADIO evening co-host and Olympic swimming gold medalist AMY VAN DYKEN ROUEN, who was taken to the Intensive Care Unit at SCOTTSDALE HEALTHCARE OSBORN MEDICAL CENTER in SCOTTSDALE, AZ after an all-terrain vehicle accident in SHOW LOW, AZ on FRIDAY (6/6), according to the ARIZONA REPUBLIC and NBC affiliate KPNX-TV/PHOENIX's AZCENTRAL.COM.

I found it very strange that KUSA 9News didn't cover this story at all on their 5pm or 6pm newscasts tonight.
I wonder if there is an issue between Van Dyken and 9News?

I wish her the best in her recovery.
Reports are now saying her spine was totally severed. Not good. :(

Here is the response from 9news:

The story was not reported at 5pm or 6pm because it has already been covered in every hour in morning show, noon broadcast, and 4pm newscasts. We were also currently working on a more complete report for the 9/10 pm newscasts. We wish the best for Amy and all involved in the tragedy.

Do any of you think that is a good reason to not report it AT ALL on their main 5 and 6pm newscasts?

I don't.

Not everyone watches all of their newscasts.
And this is one of the top stories of the day that they totally skipped during those newscasts.
Makes you wonder what else they skip.

The other Denver TV newscasts reported about it in the first 5-10 minutes.

In her first interview since her June 6 ATV accident left her paralyzed, Amy Van Dyken-Rouen talked to Matt Lauer at Craig Hospital. The interview took place at the Englewood hospital on Thursday with her parents and her husband, former Denver Broncos punter Tom Rouen, at her side. Segments, including in the pool and the rehab areas, aired on NBC’s “Today” on Friday morning.

Lauer asks, “Is this the media-trained Amy?” showing such great, positive spirit? The couple says no, this is the real person. “This is what you’re dealing with. Get stronger,” she says.
“I don’t have it in my makeup to sit and dwell on it.”
