The NATURAL RESOURCES DEFENSE CENTER has sent a letter to five radio stations in DENVER and COLORADO SPRINGS demanding that a NATIONAL MINING ASSOCIATION radio spot being aired on the stations be pulled or the environmental activism group "will be forced to consider further action."
The DENVER POST reports that the group has deemed the spot, which claims the OBAMA administration's proposed power plant regulations could raise electric bills by as much as 80%, "false, misleading and deceptive."

The mining trade organization says that it stands by the ads, which are based on administration testimony in Congress from FEBRUARY; the WASHINGTON POST's "Fact Checker," saying the spot "does not pass the laugh test," noted that the 80% figure is lowered by subsequent testimony.
