https://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/1970/03/kutx-200x200.pngAn antenna failure has taken at least two Austin stations off of FM for what one says may be weeks.
While most of the stations on the shared FM master antenna (https://www.fybush.com/site-20180413/) resumed broadcasting from their auxiliary sites on Saturday, University of Texas AAA 98.9 KUTX (https://kutx.org) Leander and Recharge Media Variety Hits “96.3 Jack-FM (http://jack963fm.com)” K242DE Austin are both streaming only for the time being.
KUTX sister 90.5 KUT-FM reports (https://www.kut.org/austin/2024-01-23/why-is-kutx-off-the-air), “the cause of the failure at the broadcast site in Bee Cave isn?t yet known. Due to the weather, crews have been unable to reach the antenna atop the broadcast tower ? more than 1,000 feet up ? to investigate the cause.” KUTX intends to put a temporary low-power transmitter on the University of Texas campus.
