FCC Actionshttps://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2020/05/fccseal2020-200x200.pngWith the LPFM Filing Window coming to a close on Friday, the FCC has now implemented a freeze on amendments to those applications until 6:00 pm EST on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 as the FCC reviews mutually exclusive groups of applications. The FCC will lift the freeze on modification applications for existing translator and LPFM licenses at midnight on Monday, December 18.
Elmira College’s 107.7 WECW Elmira NY has entered into a Consent Decree and agreed to a $500 civil penalty for failing to timely file its license renewal application.
Pirate ActionsThe FCC issued Notices of Illegal Pirate Broadcasting to 271 Zacko LLC D for a station operating from their property on 90.9 in Bronx NY and The Joseph Best and Sheila Y. Best Living Trust for a station on 107.9 in Brooklyn NY. Both property holders were warned they could be liable for a fine up to $2,316,034 if the stations continue to operate.
License CancellationsAfter being silent since April 2019, the FCC has cancelled Miles College’s license for 88.7 WMWI Demopolis AL.
AM ChangesDelmarva Educational Association’s 1110 WTJZ Norfolk VA proposes to diplex at the site of TL Broadcasting’s 1490 WXTG Hampton.
