The organization began operating what is now WNVU at midnight with snippets of the music it will be featuring on the new brand. A full launch will follow.
WNVU will join Vida Unida’s full-powered signals 91.7 KHVU Houston, 90.9 WLFE Cutler Bay/Miami, 89.1 KBWA Brush CO, 89.5 KVUD Bay City TX, and 91.1 KVUJ Lake Jackson TX. The network is also heard on translators in Birmingham AL, College Station TX, Evansville IN, and West Palm Beach and HD2s in Dallas, Nashville, and Portland.
The Carribbean brokers heard on WVIP included Irie Jam Radio (https://www.iriejamradio.com), Groovin Radio (https://www.groovinradiony.com) and Link-Up Radio (https://www.linkupradio.com). The Jamaica Gleaner reports (https://jamaica-gleaner.com/article/news/20230901/closure-ny-radio-station-leaves-jamaican-and-caribbean-programmes-without-home?fbclid=IwAR2ENoqt_d78OEqXgl4oU5FLexz28JiPd2bV APDQYnvABkCJU9SVJjrGTDI) they are seeking new outlets for their programming including attempting to purchase Emmis’ Gospel 1190 WLIB (http://www.wlib.com).
