Just a year since KOAA News 5 and its viewers bid a reluctant farewell to Lisa Lyden, the station is reporting that Lyden will return as one of the station's main news anchors.

Lyden, who left the airwaves in July of last year to tend to family issues, will return later this fall.

She will anchor the station's 5 p.m. 6 p.m, 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts alongside Rob Quirk and Jennifer Horbelt, according to KOAA.

Lyden is a native of Florida and moved west to attend Western State College of Colorado.

After a year as a journalist in Grand Junction, Lyden started at KOAA in 1983, and at 21 was a weekend anchor.

Quirk and Lyden were co-anchors starting from 1991 until July 2012.
