Britt Moreno on CBS4

Because the local TV news wake-up shows are among the most competitive and lucrative for the stations, because CBS4 had to do something to address its awful slide in the ratings, and because Fox31 was sly enough to benefit from CBS4′s mistake, Denver viewers have a new assortment of TV faces in the a.m.
Starting Monday, Brooke Wagner and Kirk Yuhnke settled in as co-anchors at KDVR on “Good Day Colorado.” Wagner was not renewed at KCNC, spent time auditioning for KDVR and nailed the gig. Yuhnke was formerly at the ABC Phoenix TV affiliate. Natalie Tysdal left after a decade (http://blogs.denverpost.com/ostrow/2013/04/08/brooke-wagner-joins-fox31-as-morning-anchor/13486/) and has started her own production company.

Last week, Britt Moreno joined the morning ranks at CBS4 (http://blogs.denverpost.com/ostrow/2013/02/27/cbs4-replaces-brooke-wagner-with-britt-moreno/13077/), bringing the average age of the station’s experienced staff down a tad. Previously with the Fox affiliate in Phoenix, she debuted with Alan Gionet on the “CBS4 Morning News.”

Danielle Grant, coming to 9News

Next month, Danielle Grant joins KUSA, adding to the already substantial ranks of weathercasters–six in total. Grant, a meteorologist, begins May 13, working mornings along with Becky Ditchfield. Grant previously was a weekend weather anchor and reporter for KREM in Spokane, WA.
With new personalities all around, the May ratings should be intriguing. (Some say “sweeps periods” are a thing of the past since ratings are measured instantly and constantly now. Still, the sweeps months are a consideration to help set future advertising rates.) So, we’ll see who’s top o’ the morning.
