From Radio Insight: From RadioInsight FCC ActionsFour previously dismissed translator applications from the July 2017 filing window have been reinstated. Township Media's AAA "Sun Radio" 1490 KTSN Austin TX (96.1), Southern Broadcast Media's Oldies 980 WTOB Winston-Salem NC (100.7), WJBW LLC's Haitian "Radio Azure" 1000 WJBW Jupiter FL (93.7 West Palm Beach), and American Media Investment's Gospel "1450 The Dove" KQYX Galena KS (92.9 Joplin MO) all had their applications dismissed last September because those licenses were associated with applications done during the 2016 250 mile waiver period. But those applications were all dismissed. As the AM Revitalization rules specify one new translator per AM license and not one application per license, all have been reinstated. The FCC has opened a Proposed Rule Making for amending the Table of Allotments to add a new Class A on 97.3 in Connerville OK. The Chickasaw Nation made the proposal to add the allotment and seeks to gain Tribal Priority for the allocation. From Radio Insight: From RadioInsight A change at Entercom CHR "Energy 97.3" KEGY San Diego is coming closer and closer to fruition. Morning hosts Sean 'Sonic' Leckie and Tonya Gonzalez are off the air this morning with night host Marvy J filling in and making allusions to imminent changes coming. Midday host Alexia recently shifted to nights at Alternative "Alt 94.9" KBZT. KEGY was moved off of 103.7 to 97.3 on the day its merger with CBS Radio closed in November after a weekend of being online only. That led to a sharp drop from a 2.2 share in the November PPM monthly to a 1.0 in the following two books. While the expectation has been a flip to Sports to pair with Entercom's carriage of the San Diego Padres (which were on KBZT last season), it now seems like a move to a Sports leaning Hot Talk position. Former "Mighty 1090" XEPRS morning host Dan Sileo, who stated last month he was moving to another station in the market, confirmed yesterday he will be heading to Entercom with "the ability to talk about anything". https://twitter.com/DanSileoShow/status/964285398045270017 Exclusive Domain Insight on the new branding for 97.3 and other programming details follows for RadioInsight Premium subscribers: The post Energy 97.3 Draining Out Of San Diego appeared first on RadioInsight. more
